279 MEPs voted in favour of Wopke Hoekstra’s appointment as Commissioner for Local weather Motion, 173 voted in opposition to, and 33 abstained.
Maroš Šefčovič’s new obligations as Govt Vice-President for the European Inexperienced Deal have been authorised with 322 votes in favour, 158 votes in opposition to and 37 abstentions.
The votes have been held by secret poll.
After the hearings of Mr Hoesktra (Netherlands) on 2 October and of Mr Šefčovič (Slovakia) on 3 October, and after extra written follow-up questions for each, the Committee on the Setting, Public Well being and Meals Security gave each optimistic evaluations, which have been subsequently confirmed by Parliament’s Convention of Committee Chairs, the Convention of Presidents (EP President Metsola and political group leaders) and the total Home at present.
